Education: Working hard to raise awareness of placenta encapsulation for postpartum wellness through education by:

~ One on one counseling for clients and perspective clients

~ Community outreach

~ Group workshops

~ An informational rider to a childbirth education class

ENCAPSULATION:

(TCM or Raw)

We typically work with the Traditional Chinese Medicine method of encapsulation. However we will encapsulate raw upon request, for an additional fee. They are both effective. The Raw Dehydration Method is said to retain more vitamins and helpful enzymes and moms who take them experience a higher burst of energy with nearly immediate results. However this huge boost of energy immediately following birth may be a bit much for mom as she should be resting and enjoying her new baby.

PlacentaWorks_095

The TCM Method has been used for centuries and involves lightly steaming the placenta with herbs prior to dehydration. Moms taking these pills report more of a “slow and steady” building of energy and have great results. I prefer the TCM Method. However some moms following a raw food, vegan or vegetarian diet sometimes prefer the Raw Dehydration Method based on their beliefs. Some research suggests that cooking food makes the nutrients more bio-available, which would in turn mean that the TCM method is of better use. I encourage you to do some research and determine which method is best for you. After you have been taking your pills for a week or so, I will be following up to ensure you are doing well during your postpartum period.

Placenta Art/prints:
PlacentaWorks_074We offer a couple of placenta prints, one of the maternal side and one of the fetal side; these can be personalized upon request. These are beautiful keepsakes and artwork of your child’s ‘tree of life’ that are printed on acid free, archival quality paper.

Tincture:

This is a mother tincture, which is processed from a raw piece of placenta and takes about 6 weeks to complete. If stored properly, this can last indefinitely. This is a great item to have in your natural remedy stash. While the pills work best in the immediate weeks following the birth of your baby, this works great for years to come for you and child. (ig. Times of transition, menopause, hormonal imbalance, and even the common cold for your child.)

Salve and Smoothies:

We will soon be offering a placenta salve which can be used on all kinds of skin conditions including c-section incisions, eczema, diaper rash, sore nipples, postpartum hemorrhoids, perineal tearing, burns, and skin irritations. We will also be offering a placenta fruit smoothie which provides a great boost of energy and reduced postpartum bleeding, before your capsules are ready. Stay tuned for more info or feel free to contact us if you think you will be interested in this service now.

Umbilical cord keepsake:

We will gently wash and dehydrate your umbilical cord and store in a nice satin bag with some herbs. Another nice keepsake. (picture shown is before dehydration)

I visited your booth in Wilmington in March and wanted to know if you could provide me with some pricing details? This is something I am honestly just now starting to research and want to know if this is even an affordable option for us.

    Thank you,
    Stephanie Blair
